Join Sheila Dion, Community Educator at Erin's Angels, for a Lunch & Learn about food insecurity. The session will discuss the magnitude of food insecurity in CNY, food-assistance resources available throughout the area, and ways to advocate for food justice. Attendees will leave the presentation with an increased understanding of the problem of food insecurity, knowledge of SNAP and other food-assistance programs, and action steps they can take to support a future in which all people have the food they need to lead healthy lives.
Some evening dates may be available upon request. In order to sustain and expand the impact of Erin's Angels, we kindly request a donation be considered following my speaking engagement. This contribution will directly support the ongoing efforts of our organization and help us continue making a positive difference in the community.
Comments from previous presentations:
"I think that the empathy she displayed is an example of what one should aim for in life. Her kindness and dedication will forever be something that I will think about as what true kindness really is. In the future, I will apply this to remain kind and empathetic to patients and do all that I can for those who need. She is a reminder that the answer to the thought "well what can 1 person do," is actually quite a lot."
