The Feed Our Future Scholarship has definitely helped me achieve milestones of mine. Back in high school, one milestone of mine was achieving high grades and volunteering as much as I could to give back to the community, as well as make connections for when it came time to apply for scholarships before I went into college. Achieving this scholarship made my family proud of all the hard work I put in throughout my high school career and lifted some financial burden off both myself and them when it came to tuition. This scholarship has allowed me to go to an institution that I greatly enjoy, and has allowed me to academically, athletically and socially find more things that I am interested in. Allowing me to find which areas of Civil Engineering I enjoy, finding more lifelong friends and roommates and even join intramural volleyball and partaking in other sports I didn't partake in back in high school. The scholarship has allowed me to achieve so many new things in my life so I am grateful for that.

Listen to how Sheila Dion took a part-time job as a "lunch lady" in her children's school and quickly noticed many students asking for extra food to take home with them. What started as a pilot program to help 17 students in the Phoenix School District now provides 40,000 meals each school year, helping hundreds of students and their families overcome food insecurity. Hear the remarkable story of Erin's Angels in this edition of Built to Serve, hosted by Salvation Army Major Charles Roberts.
