Locating basic resources such as food, shelter, employment, or health care may mean calling dozens of phone numbers, then struggling through a maze of agencies and services to make the right connections. The 211 system helps residents find community resources by dialing a simple three-digit number.
In July 2000 the Federal Communications Commission assigned the three-digit dialing code 2-1-1 for the exclusive purpose of providing widespread access to community information and referral services.
211 CNY brings together nonprofit organizations in the community to better serve the residents of five counties: Onondaga, Oswego, Jefferson, Lewis, and St. Lawrence. 211 is a helpful starting point for areas with small fragmented rural communities that may not be as connected as bigger cities. Under a simple, easy to remember, three digit phone number, updated information is kept under national standards, and the call or use of the database is free and available 24/7.

Loads of Love is a free laundry ministry offered by the First United Methodist Church of Phoenix at the Canal View Laundromat in Phoenix, NY. We provide the funds and laundry supplies (detergent, dryer sheets, garbage bags, etc.) for anyone to do their laundry at the Laundromat the 4th Monday every month from 5p-7p. We offer a snack, beverage and a craft for the children while the laundry is washing/drying. Patrons sort and load their dirty laundry, and can have us move their clean laundry to dryers and later fold it, if they wish. We supply rides to and from the laundromat, as needed, especially in inclement weather. The Program is open to anyone in our area.
Patrons are asked to stay at the laundromat while their wash is being done, which allows us to keep the laundry moving and get to know them and their families.
Loads of Love offers so much more than just clean clothes. We offer a listening, compassionate ear, friendship, fun, help making ends meet, and knowledge that you are valued and loved as you are not only by the volunteers who serve at Loads of Love, but by God whose love know no bounds.

We all win when a child succeeds in school, when families are financially stable, when people are healthy. United Way’s goal is to create long-lasting changes by addressing the underlying causes of these problems. Living united means being a part of the change. It takes everyone in the community working together to create a brighter future.
EVERYONE DESERVES OPPORTUNITIES TO HAVE A GOOD LIFE!
Since 1999, On Point has helped more than 9,000 first-generation youth to get into college, stay there, and succeed afterwards. They help students find financial aid, fill out the forms, and get the resources to survive and succeed. They drive them to colleges, visit them to help them stay on track, and go to their graduations. And since 2008, they have helped them get jobs afterward.
Research has shown that if a student’s parents didn’t go to college, the student is half as likely to attend college as his or her peers. If that student grew up in poverty, their likelihood of attending college decreases even further. Since its inception in 1999, On Point for College has worked tirelessly to offer students a chance to overcome the odds and achieve a college education.
With On Point’s support, students are beating the national average for freshman-to-sophomore-year persistence rates—not just for low-income students, but for all students.

The Child Advocacy Center of Oswego County is a safe, child-friendly site where members of the MultiDisciplinary Team of Oswego County gather to assist child abuse victims and their families. We are a non-profit 501(C)3.
Our mission is to provide a safe, child-friendly environment that supports a timely, multi-disciplinary response to child sexual abuse, physical abuse and trauma, and promotes healing of victims and their families. Historically, children who were the victims of abuse allegations were shuffled from agency to agency where they would have to tell their story of abuse and relive painful events over and over again.
We bring agencies and services together in one child-friendly setting that is non-threatening and physically and psychologically safe for children of all ages. In doing so, the intent is to minimize unnecessary interviews of children and the discomfort and embarrassment that talk about abuse can cause. The CAC also provides community outreach and efforts to aid in the prevention of child abuse throughout Oswego County.
